Marilyn Maychak
-
Marilyn Maychak is an Inuk Polish-Ukrainian coach and facilitator who works with people who are done shape-shifting for systems that still won't see them. And with organizations ready to be accountable, not just inclusive.
She works with Inuit, Indigenous, Black, racialized and historically marginalized professionals who are navigating systems that were not designed with their wholeness in mind. People who are exhausted by shape-shifting, code-switching, and arriving in rooms as a fraction of themselves. And she works with organizations that are genuinely ready to stop performing reconciliation and start doing the slower, more accountable work of structural change.
Marilyn brings decades of experience working within and alongside education systems, Indigenous governance, and equity work. She understands the difference between a system that is malfunctioning and one that is working exactly as designed. That distinction changes everything about how leaders decide what to do next.
Her coaching does not ask people to optimize themselves to fit a system's narrow view of leadership. It asks something harder and more useful: to name what the system has actually cost them, to locate where they've been conforming, and to build leadership that doesn't wait for those systems to finally decide to see them.
She lives and works as a visitor on the traditional, unceded lands of the Snuneymuxw Mustimuxw, or what is colonially known as Nanaimo, BC. She always works remotely.
